Critical Water Leak - check outdoor gardens - JTTownHall - 12-14-2022 Please be aware, the water plant is still losing water. We are asking for everyone to check outdoor faucets/spigots and check home gardens and turn OFF water to those areas. - LISTEN for leaks anywhere outside your home & report any sounds of running water. - Shut OFF water to any outdoor garden areas - ASK! If you can't get to an area or need help, contact Emma (303) 642-5756/ emma.hardy@jimtown.org OR the Town Hall, 303-449-1806 Please continue to help spread the word. We know of unoccupied homes in town but if you have a neighbor out of town or are not aware, please help us get the word out or if you can check a neighbor's property, that would be so helpful. Thanks so much for your help!! Sincerely, The Water Ops Team RE: Critical Water Leak - check outdoor gardens - Hollis - 12-15-2022 Are the water mains zoned with shut-off valves? If so, thinking shut one at a time and monitoring water loss/flow rates may help isolate/point to where the leak(s) are occurring in the system. RE: Critical Water Leak - check outdoor gardens - cz11@msn.com - 12-15-2022 Is it time to propose water meters on homes as a long-term fix? There are vastly different volumes of water usage for different residents but prices are all about the same. This is not conducive to responsible water usage in all its shapes and sizes. Seems we are repeatedly running into this issue and blindly increasing the rate of water treatment is an environmentally and financially irresponsible way to mitigate. Even if a leak is occurring prior to a home-meter, meters allow rapid determination of whether a leak is pre-home or in-home. |
