MOUNTAIN FOOD RESCUE - Lynnie - 05-22-2023

FOOD PANTRY TONIGHT  -  MAY 22  -  6:00 -7:00PM
EVERYONE IS WELCOME!
WE ARE LOCATED AT THE EAST END OF THE BIG PARK, NEXT TO THE TENNIS COURTS.
BRING YOUR OWN BAGS OR BOX.

Another outstanding amount of food today! Julie, Mary and Carl, Sophia, Rudiger, Terry and Alex, and Kara picked up 2,281 pounds of food today! And then Lynnie, Kael, Kathleen, and Annsley helped unload, weigh and put away that food, and then Woody broke down cardboard boxes! Next will come Cyndi, Barbra, and Beth who will come in before the pantry starts and put all the food out for you that has been refrigerated. After that the distributors come in to help you pick out food. Tonight that will be St Kate, Randy, Lynwood, and ToddMary. As you can see it really DOES take a village to make this happen every week! But it doesn't end there! On Tuesday Julie takes the compost. Jerry comes in and takes the recycle. I come back on Fridays and take the paper trash.
See what I mean?
Now on to the food this week! We have milk but no eggs, lots of prepared foods, cheese, lots of cut up fruit, some packaged greens (maybe you could split up some of the containers so more people will get some),packaged broccoli, and cauliflower.  We have squash, tomatoes, carrots, potatoes, green, red, yellow peppers, onions, and enormous amount of mangoes, and grapes. More bread than last week but still not as much as we were getting, pastries, and cookies. We have lots of crackers and chips, and sweets. Plenty of canned goods too! And finally, we have more MEAT!  Chickens, chicken breasts, chicken thighs, pork chops, ground turkey, brisket and more!

One more thing, starting on Sunday June 4 will be doing a Costco pickup! Julie and I will do the first one to get an idea of how much it will be but after that we will need more drivers. So for those of you who cannot volunteer on Mondays because of work, you might
consider helping out on Sundays either doing the pickup or helping with the weighing and putting away. You don't have to do every Sunday.  If interested please contact Lynnie @ 303-444-o419 or lynniemiddledorf@gmail.com
Thank you, and keep those donations coming ( see Cyndi's earlier post)!
