Now I’m awake. Dogs have hopped up on the bed. The quick flashes of lightning and rumbling thunder make them want reassurance cuddles. The new roof, hours old, is being tested. Here comes another round. See y’all later.

It woke us too. The big boomer this afternoon at 2:42 pm must have been as loud. It shook the whole house and rattled the glassware. The lightning flash seemed to come from east of Beaver Reservoir. Lightning is how many forest fires start.
