Let's hear it for midwives! - Erika A - 08-15-2023
For those of you who may not know her, Abrie is a Certified Nurse-Midwife who lives with her family up in the Bar K - and my neighbor! She has been bringing babies into the world for several years now down at the Birth Center of Boulder (BCOB). Sadly, this incredible place has recently lost their funding, but rather than let this important place close its doors, she is working hard to keep it open to new mothers through private ownership. This is a HUGE undertaking, and one that I fully support, having seen firsthand the value of midwives with the births of two of my children. The Birth Center of Boulder (BCOB), a freestanding birth center in Boulder, CO currently owned by Boulder Community Health (BCH), is returning to private ownership under a new name: Boulder Birth & Holistic Health (BBHH).
Community support is vital during BBHH's transition back from a hospital-owned to an independently operating community organization.
BCOB has lovingly supported so many families in our community over the past 9 years, and now we have an opportunity to show some support in return.
