10 Year Flood Anniversary - Town Fair! - Annamaria - 08-27-2023
Hello, Jamestown and Bar K Neighbors!
We are planning a Town Fair to be held on the 10 year flood anniversary date, 9/11/23, from 5 - 9 in the Little Park.
We are hoping that the Town Fair will be an opportunity not to dwell on the trauma and difficulties of the flood, but to celebrate our town's resilience, and acknowledge how far we have come, how much work it took to get here, and how strong we are as a community now.
Along those lines, we will be hosting a place for Board Members, Committee Members, and other groups in town to have a presence at the Town Fair, to represent their group. The Town Fair will be a great opportunity to celebrate our community, our work, and our neighbors. We hope that all JT and Bar K residents and neighbors, new and old, will learn more about the energy and variety of all of the organizations in town dedicated to making the Jamestown area a vibrant and unique place to live.
There will be an altar/remembrance table with shared photos and other memorabilia from the flood and rebuilding. Please get in touch with me if you have anything you would like to share.
We will be celebrating with free hot dogs with all the trimmings, potluck desserts, coffee and tea.??? ☕☕ We will have veggie options!
The Merc will be open across the street where one can purchase an alternate beverage of their choice. ???
And, in typical Jamestown fashion, there will be music provided by some of our local musicians. ???
As this is a community event, and it takes a village to put on events, I will be posting sign-up sheets requesting help setting up/taking down tables on Monday the 11th.
I will also post a sign-up sheet asking for baked goods, and servers to serve the baked goods.
Come have a hot dog, say hello, and celebrate Jamestown.
