MOUNTAIN FOOD RESCUE - Lynnie - 06-03-2024

FOOD PANTRY TONIGHT!  MONDAY JUNE 3  5:30 - 6:30

ANOTHER ENORMOUS PANTRY!
We pick up from Costco, Whole Foods, Ideal Market, and Community Food Share (CFS) each week for our Pantry.
For tonight's pantry our drivers brought in a grand total of 3,197 lbs of food! Can you believe it?
So please come on down and help us rescue this delightful bounty.
Here's some of what we have...

PRODUCE: grapes, cherries, raspberries, cut up fruit cups, apples, oranges, tangerines, pears, bananas, mangoes,
cantaloupe, honeydew melons, nectarines. lettuce, bell peppers, cucumbers, potatoes, green beans, carrots, giant white onions, red onions, broccoli, squash, mushrooms, cut up butternut squash, and tomatoes.
BAKED GOODS: Lots of breads, bagels, buns, muffins, cakes, pies, cookies, and pastries! CONSIDER taking a cake to someone tonight!
PREPARED FOOD:  An entire Google fridge (so called because Google donated the huge double door fridge)! Packed with fresh prepared meals, both family size and individual portions, sushi, SO many salads, rotisserie chickens, shrimp, salmon, soup, pupusas, olives, cheeses, sandwiches, and more!
FROZEN:  Pizzas, ground turkey, chicken, pork, and frozen prepared meals, Eggo waffles, and even a few plant based meats.
PET FOOD:  We have a big bag of dry cat food and a big bag of dog food too.
CANNED GOODS & PANTRY ITEMS:  All the normal stuff and rice, and pasta. Plus always some interesting baking products, and health and beauty items too!
DRINKS:  Lots of variety of sodas, mineral waters, juices, seltzers, coffees and teas. Something for everyone!
CEREALS, SNACKS, CRACKER,AND CHIPS: All I can say is we HAVE them!  And want you to take them!

SPECIAL THANKS going out to Chef Justin from the Merc who has been taking our compost to a pig farm and to Purnima and Randy for taking some of our leftovers to the Wildlife Sanctuary in Eastern Colorado. Our goal at the pantry is to keep as much food out of the Landfill as we can and this is helping enormously!
On another note, did anyone notice that the Big Park has been mowed? It looks terrific! I believe I heard that Russell was responsible for this lovely gesture to the town. Thank you so much!
And a final thank you to all of you for your generous and very consistent donations, they really help so much!
