MOUNTAIN FOOD RESCUE - Lynnie - 12-02-2024 FOOD PANTRY TONIGHT! MONDAY DECEMBER 2, 5:30 - 6:30PM IN CASE YOU DIDN'T SEE MY POST YESTERDAY ABOUT HAVING AN ENORMOUS AMOUNT OF BAKED GOODS, YOU DIDN'T MISS OUT! BECAUSE ON TOP OF ALL THE PIES, COOKIES AND CAKES FROM COSTCO, WE RECEIVED ANOTHER 320 LBS FROM WHOLE FOODS AND IDEAL MARKET TODAY! We would really love it if you could please take some of these items home with you tonight. If you work outside of home you could take a bunch into your office or your place of work! If you want you could take it home and pass it out to neighbors and friends! Let's get creative and help us think where we can take this amazing bounty of desserts! Now, before we all do our part and eat enough desserts to put us in a sugar coma let's talk about all the other great stuff we will have tonight! PRODUCE: We have 120 pounds of organic blueberries, apples, oranges, tangelos, bananas, lemons, limes, plums, cranberries, grapes, strawberries, cut up fruit cups, cut up butternut squash, other squashes, brussel sprouts, really great looking asparagus, riced cauliflower, whole cauliflower, artichokes, potatoes, radishes, green onions, cucumbers, green beans, snap peas, tomatoes. Some of these items in really large quantities. BAKED GOODS: Everything you could want and more, please help us with this! Take it to work, drop it off on the corners where people are asking for donations, who can come up with the most creative ideas so this doesn't end up in the trash? We even have gluten free and vegan baked goods! PREPARED FOODS: Lots of bagged salad greens, prepared salads, single serving meals, guacamole, salsa, burritos, lots and lots of cubed cheese, pizzas, and more. DAIRY: Some milk, some eggs (CFS, where we get most of our dairy items had none this week!) MEAT: We still have a few turkeys, some pork, and other miscellaneous meats. (Again, we get most of our meat from CFS and they had none this week!) DRINKS, CHIPS, CEREAL, AND OTHER DELIGHTFUL STRANGE ITEMS: Yes! We would like to remind you that the speed limit on Lower Main is REALLY 10 MPH! Please respect that and your neighbors who live there! Again, we would like to ask that you give whatever you can in the way of donations, so far we have had to plow 2 times, we pay for plowing for Cemetery Road and the parking lot at the Pantry so it adds up real fast! Thank you in advance for your support and donations! |
