Here are the details:
At Science with Strangers, you RSVP and then are seated with people that you don’t know yet.
Each Science Dinner revolves around an interesting discussion topic, where 3-4 Experts will give a very brief talk on their area of expertise regarding the subject, followed by a dinner course and conversation at the table.
During dessert, we encourage everyone to get up and talk to new people, or friends that you came with, or guest speakers, ect.
LAST Science with Strangers, we learned about and discussed the subject of “Consciousness”
This Science with Strangers, we will learn about “TIME”
Time encompasses so much of our perception. We have memories and future plans and grasp to hold onto the ever-elusive present. It feels like a one-way river rolling at a constant speed, but we know that time is actually relative to gravity, and the implications of time being relative are extraordinary! Without any mass, how fast could it go?
Does all of time actually exist everywhere? Are we living in a “Block Universe”? If so, why can’t we go backwards? Is it entropy- or are we all experiencing an illusion of time together in a physical state that is simply one dimension of many?
We likely won’t have all of my questions answered, but it can be fascinating to think about!
Guest lecturers are being organized, after you sign up, you’ll receive a short description of the speakers and their area of expertise.
