Warm on the west side - St.Kate of the Canyon - 01-25-2025

Update on broken wood stove glass: Thanks to everyone who offered helpful advice. I followed each bit offered and found multiple options for getting glass. Rick, the fireplace manager at McGuckins, found the part number I needed. But before he ordered it he said to check with Rocky Mountain Stove & Fireplace in Lakewood, they carry parts for many brands of stoves. They did have my glass. This ended up being the quickest and cheapest option. I drove down and got it this afternoon. Left at noon, made it back by 3:00. Thanks for all the input. It's supposed to be in the single digits tonight. Hope y'all are warm and toasty too. Kate

Glad to know you were able to fix this quickly and about this supplier in case. Your fireplace looks wonderful!

Kate, did the glass crack from an impact or just from age and repeated heating?
I've been thinking I need to have a replacement glass handy in case mine ever cracks, might move it up on my Things to do list.

Hollis, It was old glass for sure. It cracked when a piece of wood wasn’t quite in and I forced the door closed.

Kate, ok, thanks, I was afraid of that, have done it myself, going to be more careful from now on, luv my wood heat, and going to get a replacement glass and gasket material to keep in case my glass ever breaks.
