Snowy stroll in the river - Steven B in PV - 05-20-2022

A curious yearling calf checks out the dipper nest box in the stream.  I don't think she he minds the wet snowy weather. With a little better look, this is a young bull with 2.5 inch pedicles.

A pair of American Dippers completed the moss nest inside the box earlier this week.

With a good eye from a respectful distance.  Binoculars and the camera helped.

The mother cow is with the yearling and she's super fat, probably close to bearing another calf or two.
