JAM Gathering THIS Saturday, 6/4 @ 4 p.m.! - Laura Williams - 05-28-2022 [align=start] ALL are welcome to join a JAM Gathering THIS Saturday, June 4th @ 4 p.m. in Jamestown's Little Park featuring a potluck dinner and music jam after discussing ideas and upcoming events, including the Treasure Trade Rummage Sale, Summer Craft Fair, Java JAM, and Band in a Hat, among other possibilities! Bring a chair and a potluck dish to share and instruments for an acoustic/electric jam or some art supplies to jam around with! Please forward, spread the word, and share the attached flyer to help us summon our members, welcome new folks, and create anew! JAM IS FOR EVERYONE of all ages, styles, and levels with a mission to support The Arts, whatever that may be. It's free to take part and incredibly fun! WE are JAM! JAM is a non-profit commUNITY group (made up of all of us) that raises money through creative events and puts it right back into the town by upgrading our venues (Town Hall, Elysian Park, and Town Square), maintaining our equipment for town events, such as our July 4th celebration, and supporting area artists and musicians in various ways (i.e. helping to replace gear that was lost in the flood of 2013). Have an idea? Bring it to JAM and together, we will try to make it happen right here on our lil' mountain! As such, since 1996, we have hosted many events, including art & garden walks, many musical and theatrical shows, movie nights, an original rock opera, Band in a Hat, comedy shows, dance lessons, Children's Theater, Wild Mountain Kids band, Java JAM, craft fairs, rummage sales, culinary arts, art shows, workshops, and much, much more. That's 26 years of different generations helping to keep Jimtown's history and culture alive! It's time to get back in the saddle after the challenges of this life-altering pandemic and continue creating together. There's so much we can do if we all get together and pool our many talents. Let's write, paint, exhibit, sing, perform! Let's JAM! Please share widely and bring your friends or anyone you think may want to be involved, especially those who are new to the area. One need not be an artist or musician to join as there is something for everyone in JAM! If you know of someone who may want to be included in our email list, please contact jamforthearts@gmail.com Check out our Facebook page: https://www.facebook.com/jamforthearts See you next Saturday!
