FOOD PANTRY TONIGHT!   MONDAY MARCH 20  5:30 TO 6:30PM

EVERYONE IS WELCOME! HAPPY FIRST DAY OF SPRING!
WE ARE LOCATED AT THE FOOD BARN NEXT TO THE TENNIS COURTS IN THE BIG PARK.
CEMETERY ROAD AND THE PARKING LOT ARE STILL MUDDY IN SPOTS SO TAKE CARE DRIVING AND WALKING.

*** STARTING APRIL 3RD WE WILL BEGIN OUR SPRING/SUMMER HOURS.  THE PANTRY WILL BE OPEN FROM 6 TO 7:00PM. ***

WE HOPE THAT BY OFFERING THE LATER TIME MORE PEOPLE WILL BE ABLE TO ATTEND THE MONDAY PANTRIES.
WE HAVE HEARD FROM SOME OF YOU THAT BY THE TIME YOU GET TO THE PANTRY, MUCH OF THE FOOD IS GONE. HOPEFULLY BY STARTING
LATER THOSE OF YOU WHO WORK OR HAVE OBLIGATIONS DOWN BELOW WILL BE ABLE TO PARTICIPATE  ON A MORE EQUITABLE BASIS.
WE HAVE TRIED NOT TO HAVE MANY RESTRICTIONS AT THE PANTRY.  MOST PANTRIES HAVE STRICT RULES ABOUT HOW MUCH YOU CAN TAKE AND THEY MONITOR THEIR CLIENTS VERY CAREFULLY. WE HAVE NOT WANTED TO DO THIS! WE WILL BE TRYING  DIFFERENT STRATEGIES TO MAKE THE FOOD
DISPERSAL MORE EQUITABLE FOR ALL OF YOU. THIS MAY BE IN THE FORM OF LIMITING THE NUMBER OF BAGS OR BOXES YOU CAN TAKE DEPENDING
ON HOW MANY PEOPLE YOU ARE SHOPPING FOR, OR DOING A RANDOM LOTTERY SO THAT THE SAME PEOPLE ARE NOT ALWAYS IN THE FRONT OF THE
LINE, TO ONLY PUTTING OUT A PORTION OF THE FOOD AT THE BEGINNING AND THEN RESTOCKING SOMETIME BEFORE THE END OF THE PANTRY.
WE WOULD LOVE TO HEAR YOUR IDEAS AND SUGGESTIONS AS WELL.  PLEASE FEEL FREE TO TALK WITH THE DISTRIBUTORS, POST ON THE BB, OR EMAIL MYSELF OR JULIE.

FWI - WE ARE SERVING BETWEEN 150 TO 160 PEOPLE A WEEK AT OUR PANTRY!
Keep in mind that we are here to supplement your food supply, not to fill your freezers or pantries!
It is a thin line between not having enough for everyone or having food leftover that we need to dispose of. So if you could keep in mind
how many people are coming in after you, and be sure you are only taking what you need for the week, not a month.
