Here you go Jackie. This an affordable ($24) bark collar, Pecole on Chewy.com
https://www.chewy.com/dogcare-tc-system-...rZEALw_wcB
this bark collar works well on our willful 2 year old Chesapeake bay retriever.
The 18th century writer Samuel Johnson had a famous quote "Only fools venture where angels fear to tread".
But screw it I'll jump into the fray......
If 1 neighbor is complaining about your dog, gosh they are pain in the butt neighbor.
If 2 neighbors complain about your dog barking, I guess you have some particular neighbors & you should try to get your dog to bark a bit less.
If 3 neighbors are complaining about you dog, hmmmmm? Sounds like its time to take ownership, be a considerate neighbor, and buy a $24 dog collar.
I apologize for being mean to you Jackie, I'm just trying to give you a $24 solution. And make everybody happier. Including your dog, after it gets 3 or 4 moderate zaps from a bark collar.
And open the door to the big DOG barking topic raging on the JT BB.
The reason I am jumping into this JT/Bar-K dog barking issue is because the answer is to me, obvious. In that the solution is balance.
YING/YANG
Home owner's right to quiet VS. dog-owners rights to be a dog. Woof. Which ironically, is inherently not an obvious, clear-cut solution.
If you are a neighbor complaining about your neighbor's occasionally barking a bit, you should chill out, you live in the mountains. Maybe there is a bear around. Dogs like to announce their presence.
If your neighbor's dog barks SOME, have a polite conversation with them in the hopes of tempering the issue. And then play your music a bit louder.
But gee golly, if when you are the dog guardian, that when you let your dog out in your yard, and it BARKS NON STOP, for 30 minutes to 2 hours, EVERY EVENING. You need to deal.
Find a better solution like:
•walk your dog & get it the exercise it is requesting from you
•keep it inside
•buy a dog collar.
Instead of being rude, ignoring your neighbors request, and being in denial.
So Hollis, my friend. You can be a bit grumpy. You complain about dogs barking in JT. Respectfully, I think you should let a little bit of dog barking slide.
However, I live close to you. 100 yards west of you. so if your issue is about a particular dog barking south of you, all the time.
Well I hear a dog, south east of me, that barks every evening. For a 1/2 hour or longer. 6 days a week.
Whoever that neighbor is should own up that their dog has a barking problem, and be a gracious neighbor, and deal.
BOOM!
Let the fireworks begin
