Fire Weather Watch

NWS has issued a fire weather watch for tomorrow, Saturday April 9. This will shut down all open burning for the duration of the event-starting at 00:01 until 23:59.  Please see below.

SATURDAY EVENING FOR WIND AND LOW RELATIVE HUMIDITY FOR SOUTH
PARK, THE SOUTHERN FOOTHILLS, AND THE PLAINS...

The National Weather Service in Denver has issued a Fire Weather
Watch for wind and low relative humidity, which is in effect from
Saturday morning through Saturday evening.

* Affected Area...Fire Weather Zones 214, 216, 238, 239, 240,
241, 242, 243, 244, 245, 246, 247, 248 and 249.

* Timing...11 AM MDT until 8 PM MDT Saturday.

* Winds...West 10 to 20 mph with gusts up to 35 mph.

* Relative Humidity...As low as 9 percent.

* Impacts...Any fire that develops will likely spread rapidly.
Outdoor burning should be avoided, as well as any activity
that may produce a spark and start a fast moving wildfire.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

A Fire Weather Watch means that critical fire weather conditions
are forecast to occur. Listen for later forecasts and possible
Red Flag Warnings.
