The weather service has posted a flash flood warning for the Calwood burn area down to the Heil Ranch and possibly south to Left Hand Canyon from now to 1:00 am.

The National Weather Service in Denver has issued a

* Flash Flood Warning for...
North Central Boulder County in northeastern Colorado...

* Until 100 AM MDT.

* At 958 PM MDT, Doppler radar indicated thunderstorms producing
heavy rain across the warned area. Between 0.2 and 0.4 inches of
rain have fallen. The expected rainfall rate is 0.25 to 0.5 inches
in 1 hour. Additional rainfall amounts of 0.3 to 0.75 inches are
possible in the warned area. Flash flooding is ongoing or expected
to begin shortly.

HAZARD...Flash flooding caused by thunderstorms.

SOURCE...Radar.

IMPACT...Flash flooding of small creeks and streams, gulches,
roads, and poor drainage and low-lying areas.

* Some locations that will experience flash flooding include...
mainly rural areas of North Central Boulder County of Calwood
Burn scar.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Move to higher ground now. Act quickly to protect your life.

Heavy rainfall will cause flash flooding of creeks, streams, and
ditches in the Calwood burn area. Rock slides or debris flows can
also be expected. The main areas of concern are Heil Valley Ranch
and Lefthand Creek just above US 36.
