Red Flag Warning - No Burning - Friday March 31st

National Weather Service has issued a Red Flag Warning for Friday, March 31 for Weather Zone 239 (Boulder County). As a result Open Burning will be prohibited in Boulder County for the entire day from 00:01 Hrs. until 24:00 Hrs. on Friday, March 31[sup]st[/sup]. Please see the following for the weather conditions to expect. Please note that conditions immediately south of Boulder County (Weather Zone 240) are in a Red Flag Warning today as well as Friday. Boulder County is not included in the Red Flag Warning today but may see weather conditions approaching Red Flag criteria.

FRIDAY FOR WIND AND LOW RELATIVE HUMIDITY FOR THE PLAINS OF
BOULDER AND JEFFERSON COUNTIES...FIRE WEATHER ZONE 239...

* Affected Area...Fire Weather Zone 239.

* Timing...Noon to 7 PM MDT Friday.

* Winds...Northwest 30 to 40 mph with gusts up to 55 mph.

* Relative Humidity...15 to 20 percent.

* Impacts...Conditions will be favorable for rapid fire spread.
  Avoid outdoor burning and any activities that may produce
  sparks.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

A Red Flag Warning means that critical fire weather conditions
are either occurring now....or will shortly. A combination of
strong winds...low relative humidity...and warm temperatures can
contribute to extreme fire behavior.
