Boil water for one minute or ten?

hello, fellow Jimbillies

so, the flyer says boil for one minute
other folks are saying boil for ten minutes.
one seems too little
but ten seems too much.
any advice on what's just right?

Can't hurt to boil the hell out of it I would think.

Per the internet (that is still working!). the CDC says boil for 1 minute.  (if you trust the CDC).  The FBI . . . oh never mind.  I don't trust the FBI.

Well, --My internet-- Ha !
said 3 minutes above 6500 ft - water boils at 199° - here -
At sea level water boils at 212 °
- longer can't hurt -
After cooling - pour back and forth, or use an egg beater to reoxygenate the water.

Yaay Water !!
