My ID was fungus gnats as well... I've dealt with them in houseplants before but have no houseplants post move, so they must have come in from outside. Ours showed up about a week ago but the population inside has dropped dramatically.

Thanks for the ID on the insects! I read that fungus gnats arrive in homes and locations where there is excess moisture. (We have them too.) Over-watered houseplants can be ideal breeding places. Their lifespan is 3 weeks. No easy way to get rid of them: the article suggested sticky fly paper which I don’t want to do, but I can let my jade plant go longer without water…
