Adopt a Dog! Frank
#1
Meet the newest rescue dog looking for a home and currently residing in JT!

This is Francisco, AKA Frank.

Frank is about 2.5 years old, around 70 lbs, likely a shepherd mixed with something with a large noggin (I swear his head is half his bodyweight)! Frank is a big lovebug, he is obsessed with people, and loves other dogs, he's friendly with kids, but may be a little rowdy for smaller children. Unfortunately, Frank does not love cats and needs a cat-free home. Frank had a rough start to life, but that hasn't dampened his loving spirit one bit! Frank is from rural Kansas, and ended up on the euthanasia list in the shelter due to lack of space. His life before that is a little unclear, it seems like he lived with a couple different people and was returned to the shelter most recently because they did not have time to care for him. Frank has a limp in his right hind leg, and according to the vet, it looks like he was hit by a car when he was young, it fractured his femur in a few places, went untreated, and so he has kind of a shorter stumpy leg and his hip doesn't quite fit into the socket correctly. Don't let that fool you! Frank is still active, doesn't seem to be in pain, and is thrilled with the prognosis of low-impact activities and LOTS of couch time. He's not going to be a 14er hiker, but he will want you to take him on walks where he can sniff everything in sight. And Frank is a dog after all, don't worry, he still gets the zoomies! He loves to play with other dogs, but would be fine as an only dog as long as he can spend a ton of time with his humans! Frank is great in a crate and sleeps through the night!
