Scam Call - Vulnerable Elders
#1
I saw on the news that scam calls have increased again. Apparently scam calls increase this time of year because it's the time for elders to sign up for next year's Medicare and the Medicare providers are calling to make sure people sign up. I just received a scam call. This guy was good. He started with "I called a few weeks ago and you were busy. You asked me to call you back. You live in Colorado, right? Do you remember?"  Holy ***!! What a hook for our vulnerable elders who may have memory issues. Huh  Beware elder friends. Youngsters warn your elders. Warmly, Kate Angel

Thanks for this reminder.  I'm visiting my mom in Iowa right now and she is coming up to speed to some degree on scammers.  I think elders also get pulled in by being respectful and by coming from an era when phone calls were important not crap.
