US 36 Boulder/Lyons Wildlife Crossing Proposal
#1
In case you missed it....
If you drive US36 to Lyons frequently, you know the endless stream of traffic can be lethal for wildlife, especially at dawn and during evening hours. Exploring ways to improve wildlife safe passage across this highway is finally beginning.  This is an enormous undertaking for Boulder County and partners (CDOT, etc), with some preliminary studies completed and information-gathering now underway.  This proposal is dovetailed with the huge North Foothills Bikeway Feasibility Study which aims to develop and construct a formal bicyclist commuting route along Hwy36 from Boulder to Lyons, but it creates another potential barrier to safe wildlife movement.

An informative webpage about a Boulder County Wildlife Crossing has been created and is very comprehensive.
Tonight, one of the first public meetings will occur, to kick off feedback on the initial proposal and a lengthy process of garnering public feedback.
This is a great opportunity to learn about the proposed project early on.

Tonight's meeting will be recorded, but if you missed the public announcements, the meeting is at:
Boulder County Parks & Open Space Headquarters
5201 Saint Vrain Road
Longmont
5:30pm - 7:30pm
