Let’s hold hands and jump into the unknown together! It’s submission time - please read the details below.
The Merc together with Jamie Lammers is excited to announce open submissions for our first ever Tiny One Act “Mountain New Play Festival”
This is your chance to FINALLY write and direct the one act play of your wildest kookiest dreams.
Abstract play submissions should be for plays approximately 15 minutes long. (Give or take 5 minutes)
Playwrights will be responsible for finding and directing actors, although The Merc will also do our best to round up area acting enthusiasts for this project.
The Mountain New Play Festival Performances will take place over two evenings, Saturday May 17th and Sunday May 18th. (Two showings of the same six plays)
This is your opportunity to make your own theatrical masterpiece, even if you have never even considered it. Go wild. The world is wild. Get crazy out there! We will select 6 plays from those submitted and you’ll have two months to throw together your daring-est, dreamiest 15 minutes.
Submissions are due for selection by Saturday March 15th
Submissions should consist of a paragraph abstract including overall theme or vibe, general story line, number of actors and anything else you like.
