.DISCUSSION...Today and tonight...
Widespread critical fire weather conditions will occur today for
all areas across the urban corridor, foothills, plains, Palmer
Divide and South Park. Sustained southwest winds will shift
westerly late morning increasing to 20-30 mph across the region;
this will produce gusts up to 35-50 mph with the highest gusts
focused in the foothills due to downslope winds. Outside of the
highest peaks and northern valleys, majority of our forecast area
trends as low as 8-10 percent minimum relative humidity. By late
this evening, relative humidity levels should recover to 35-45
percent into early Friday morning.
