Fireworks

Chris, are we still in Stage 1?
This was on FB from Boulder County Sheriff Department office yesterday:

“Okay folks, let's talk about fireworks. No fireworks are allowed in areas where Stage 1 Fire Restrictions are in effect. We mean absolutely none. No sparklers, no cone fountains, no spinners, no rockets, nothing. If you are in unincorporated areas of eastern Boulder County that are not under fire restrictions, there are limited fireworks allowed under Colorado state law. Basically, if it leaves the ground or explodes, it is not allowed. So, no cherry bombs, roman candles, firecrackers, bottle rockets, etc. If you live within a municipality, please check with your town/city directly to see what their restrictions are. Bottom line, we highly recommend that you leave the fireworks to the professionals and attend a local show.”

Hi Wendy- we are and will remain in level 1 fire restrictions through the holiday weekend, and likely moving to level 2 in about 2 weeks. So, in the State of Colorado, if you do not possesses a permit from the ATF, any fireworks that leave the ground (fly), or go bang (explode) are not legal. I haven't heard if the JVFD will be providing a display this year, if they are (and they are licensed), Lefthand will be happy to have some standby available. If they are not, there is an event in the park that does go bang during the day. That event should have a licensed blaster. For everyone's edification, if you are exercising your right to use legal fireworks, even though they are banned under level 1, and you start a fire, that is arson. If you are displaying illegal fireworks, that is a misdemeanor, if you start a fire with your display, that is arson. Feel free to call me with any questions: 303-817-6009

Thanks for the question, Wendy, and the answers, Chris.

No fireworks at this year's JT 4th of July celebration.  We'll leave it up to the blasters to figure out the other part.

So much thanks to everyone who is helping to make this year's 4th of July celebration wonderful!!!

There are still volunteer opportunities to sign up for at https://volunteersignup.org/WW3DT?
