Hi Burt, I sent your picture to a friend:
Agaricus species. Some edible, some not. Those that aren’t are usually not super toxic. They are hard to identify and often need a spore print to see spore color. Novices shouldn’t bother Hope that helps!

Thank you for taking some time to research this. There were so many looking the same I thought it was the final form but the ones we missed actually popped out to a more tradition mushroom look. Undersides were a light pink.

I took a mycology course way back in the last millennium, and my professor was repeatedly and profoundly adamant:
If you don't precisely KNOW what the species of mushroom is, NEVER eat it. Guessing a mushroom's identity, regardless of how much it looks like a safe-to-eat mushroom, can be deadly. And too often has been. Happy (and SAFE) Hunting! Sandy

Oh - such risk averse people - you can eat any species of mushroom - ONE TIME.
