Steve was as good a fellow and friend as anyone could fashion up.
He was my banjo friend first from far away and my ambassador to Jamestown so that I didn't frighten too many 
of the locals.  He was generous and kind and had a knack for wit that was so subtle and incisive that knowing him was essential to the joke.   Oh, Yeh, he saved my life a few times too.
Steve, I'll miss you buddy.

So sad to hear that we've lost another of Jamestown's wonderful characters. I missed the post earlier, so just saw it, with the great photos of him - thanks Sal and Lynn. Steve was a really wonderful friend and he and Nancy contributed so much to our commUNITY over the years. Rest in peace, Steve, you are missed!
