Subject: High Wind Watch for Boulder County - NO OPEN BURNING

Good morning,
The NWS has a High Wind Watch for Boulder County, which automatically triggers a ban on all Open Burning county-wide.
We are still Stage 1 Fire Restrictions for the Foothills and Mountains, so nothing will change there. But due to the Wind Watch, all burning in the lower elevations/flats should be postponed.
Winds will start early Saturday morning and begin to taper off Saturday afternoon, though it is still expected to be breezy through Saturday morning.

...HIGH WIND WATCH IN EFFECT ON SATURDAY...

* WHAT...West winds 25 to 45 mph with gusts up to 70 mph possible.

* WHERE...Jefferson and West Douglas Counties Above 6000
Feet/Gilpin/Clear Creek/Northeast Park Counties Below 9000 Feet,
South and Southeast Grand/West Central and Southwest
Boulder/Gilpin/Clear Creek/Summit/North and West Park Counties
Above 9000 Feet, Larimer and Boulder Counties Between 6000 and
9000 Feet and South and East Jackson/Larimer/North and Northeast
Grand/Northwest Boulder Counties Above 9000 Feet Counties.

* WHEN...On Saturday.
Hopefully we are all enjoying the moisture from the most recent snow event, but Fire Danger remains due to the exceptionally dry conditions.

Thank you, O'B. Will there be any patrols at Ceran St Vrain trailhead as well?

Hi Susan-
There will be from the USFS, and we'll try, we are currently on the Dinosaur Mtn, and have resources holding for the north half of the county as well.
