Allenspark Clean up Day & Construction at Transfer Station
#1
Allenspark's community clean up/diversion day is this Saturday, Aug 10, 9am-12pm.
Accepted materials: tires (no rims), mattresses, block styrofoam, e-waste, appliances, scrap metal, single stream recycling, household trash, and household hazardous materials including paint, antifreeze, oil, batteries (no flammables)

Construction
Also, construction is beginning for some site improvements.  A temporary site has been set up in the gravel lot adjacent, between the permanent transfer station lot and the fire department.  After diversion day and through the end of construction, the site will have to limit some of the materials that are usually accepted.  Construction is expected to last a couple months with the goal of having everything wrapped up before the snow starts.  Construction always creates an inconvenience, but the improvements will be worth the temporary inconvenience!

Accepted Materials: single stream recycling, scrap metal, household trash
Temporarily NOT accepted during construction: freon appliances, block styrofoam, clothing/textiles

Construction improvements include: adding a cardboard compactor, a better office and restroom for staff, an ADA compliant parking spot, accessibility ramps, and improved entry and exit flow.
