The food share bread makes great croutons! Very easy to make, this is the general recipe we used when I worked at Einstein bagels ? many years ago.
Cut the bread into croutons-size pieces, and in a large bowl toss with a generous portion of "garlic-butter" and Bake at 400 until light brown and a little crunchy. Super delicious as a soup topping too!
To make garlic butter, just mix garlic powder to taste in softened butter. You can use other spices as well!
Also, bread pudding is a great way to utilize extra bread, and don't forget that ANY sweet breads make a good base for French toast, some favorites around here are challah and raisin bread.
