Large healthy mountain lion siting
#3
Well, turkeys bring lions and other predators, and there are a number of people feeding the turkeys. JT already has a pretty healthy predator population, so maybe it's just business as usual to keep the lions interested in hanging around town?  Feeding turkeys is illegal in some states for a variety of reasons, but locally, it's resulting in a rather concerning concentration of them around town.  Feeding them changes their natural distribution, brings large flocks together that might remain healthier if they were not being attracted by an unnatural food source, and I'm guessing has implications for their reproduction. Overall, it just causes another imbalance IMO.

Frankly, this is exactly the time of year when feeding birds needs to cease because it opens the door to bigger, hairier problems (it could also help with JT's concerning jay & crow situation).
