High Wind Warning
#1

The wind is at it again. The National Weather Service has issued a High Wind Watch for all of the Front Range foothills and the NE plains of Colorado for this Wednesday – December 15[sup]th[/sup].
The existing Fire Restrictions still stand for the foothills and mountains, but this Wind Watch will extend the fire ban to include the plains within Boulder County.
There will be no Open Burning for the day, beginning at 0001 on Wednesday and expiring at 2359.

...HIGH WIND WATCH IN EFFECT FROM WEDNESDAY MORNING THROUGH
WEDNESDAY AFTERNOON...

* WHAT...West winds 30 to 40 mph with gusts over 60 mph on the
plains, and in the foothills 40 to 50 mph with gusts over 75 mph.

* WHERE...Foothills and plains

* WHEN...From Wednesday morning through Wednesday afternoon.

* IMPACTS...Damaging winds could blow down trees and power lines.
Widespread power outages are possible. Travel could be difficult,
especially for high profile vehicles. Blowing dust will reduce
visibility to less than a quarter mile in places.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...Strong winds and low humidity will create
critical fire weather conditions.

Again, this is for Wednesday – December 15[sup]th[/sup].
