The chipping program is a great resource for removing slash (smaller wood and tree branches) on site without having to haul it to the county forestry sort yards. In Peaceful Valley there are hosts for multiple properties on the south side of the river, and me hosting those of us on the north side. The chipping crew has been very flexible and have returned to sites at later dates as more material has been piled.
Last year, we waited until November 2nd to chip because we continued to gather 37 cubic yards of material. One stop, more efficient. Previously, we removed 81 cubic yards of compressed slash from my four parcels in one summer. I think we have at least as much this year because of the high wind falls of big Engelmann Spruce and Subalpine fir. I could use help to move and stack slash and cut logs from the forest for chipping and processing. If anyone needs a job, perhaps a young person or two who would like to learn how to work, I'm hiring.
