This weeks' offering is Aki Kauresmaki's "LENINGRAD COWBOYS GO AMERICA", a zany Finnish comedy about a polka band on a jornada del muerto to the land of rock n' roll and shattered dreams. I highly recommend any of Kauresmaki's flicks, but this one is a good intro to his ouvre. I always enjoy some company. SvH (Don't forget your earmuffs and accordions) Elvis really IS everywhere! ( addenda - It popped into my mind that another rip-snorting movie about the great white north I want to promote is "DEVIL'S ISLAND" from 1996, portraying a stressed family living in an abandoned air base in Iceland)
