SEEKING NEW MARCHING BAND MEMBERS for the Jamestown 4th of July Parade!!!
We had so much fun last year, we're ready to do it again! Any instrument that can be played on the move down Main St. is welcome. We HIGHLY RECOMMEND the ability to read sheet music and/or follow a tight score. We are especially hoping for more brass and some clarinets to join up this year!
When: Monday, May 19, 7 pm
Where: Jamestown Town Hall
Who: Anyone in the Jamestown Greater Area who plays (or who played in a galaxy far, far away) a marching band instrument* (Haven't played in awhile? No problem! You've still got some time to whip that embouchure back into shape!)
How: Please email me for sheet music ahead of time (erika@glib.net) and/or just show up!
SPECIAL NOTICE from a band member: Seeking a tuba/sousaphone for second-hand purchase!
*Marching Band Instrument: We'll leave it up to YOU to define what that means to you, Jamestown.
(And if you're reading this and hoping to contribute in another way to the parade this year, feel free to shoot me an email. YES there will also be Jamestown's traditional Kazoo Band, YES we want to do the Dog Parade again, and YES we are taking suggestions! More to come on the topic of a Banner Committee to create a cool new banner to lead the parade!)
