I used a broker, they found mountain property-friendly insurance companies.
I'm on my 3rd insurance company in 12 years.

I just call or email and let the broker do all the work, no fuss or muss, and I can e-sign documents.
Make sure they know Jamestown has a fully equipped, competent fire dept and fire hydrants.

This company is really easy to work with.

Thank you Hollis! I just found out my current homeowners insurance company is dropping us because of wildfire risk. Ugh. I'll contact these folks and see if they can find us some decent coverage.

Hillary, can you report back with what you find out? Not sure if you are in the Bar-K or JT. In my case (Bar-K) I started looking a little and I've run into a lot of folks who are unwilling to quote in the Bar-K. Spoke with Perry at this company last week, and he was worried it's the beginning of a trend. Interested to learn more about if you have a similar experience. The fact that you are getting dropped is pretty scary.

Just to be clear, I merely stated that Affordable American was easy for me to work with, sorry, I can't offer any assurances as to quality or performance, it's a crap shoot no matter who you deal with.
Good Luck!
