Since 1985, I've had a dipper nesting box in the stream by the cabin.  This year a dipper pair has been active here but hasn't started nest building yet.  Yesterday, I thought that a willow which partly blocks the view of the box from the dining table should be trimmed.  I stepped outside and gave a gentle cow moose call.  A few minutes later this yearling cow walked upstream to prune the willow for me.  True story.
