SnakeBytes - Ruminations of a Jimmbilly Flaneuriac

This morning on one of my walks I found this beautiful puffball. After some botanical researches and if it's not too wormy or over-ripe I may fry it up with some rice and garlic.  I've had puffball before and they were pretty good eating, somewhat like oyster shrooms.           On another note,  regarding the "Fred Dopp" hand-drilling stone installed at the entrance to the camposanto, I am thinking it should be turned on it's side or a shelter should be built for it.  I think if it is left as is, snowmelt will  fill the drill holes and possibly freeze, cracking the stone further. After a few seasons it will just be a pile of rubble. Just my two cents. SvH

Lynn, as long as it's pure white inside and hasn't started producing brown spores it should be good. If the center has some discoloration it has started the process and shouldn't be eaten.
