MAX WOODFIN FOR COLORADO COMING WEDNESDAY
#1
Please come take a few minutes to meet and listen to a local neighbor running for a house seat. He’ll be at the Merc on Wednesday at 6pm.
Come by 6 to hear him speak officially for a few minutes. Then stick around and talk.
Always a good idea to know your local politicians!

Max Woodfin is a former public school teacher, veteran, and mental health counselor who lives near Gold Hill and is a Democrat running to represent Colorado's House District 49 in the upcoming primary. He is focused on generating more civil dialogue, creating better access to mental health care, protecting women's reproductive rights, and helping mountain communities become more resilient in the face of climate change.

HD 49 seat is also being sought by Leslie Smith who has excellent background as scientist, School Board CU Regent. Very pro-education, reproductive rights, former CIRES cloud scientist, excellent communicator-negotiator, from north Boulder. It’s sad when good democrats unnecessarily divide the party. Leslie announced last fall. Oh well.

I met Max and his wife Silena, going door-yo-door in Jamestown today. Good guy, smart, sincere! And if his involvement draws in any new voters, all the better, because that would fantastic. And he confirmed that if Leslie Smith wins, he’d throw his backing and endorsement to her. And I’m sure that would also be true of Leslie.

Is that Judy Amabile's current seat?
If so, is she vacating it?

Yes, Annamaria.  Judy Amabile is running for State Senate this year, so her seat will be open.

Ps FYI
If Leslie Smith wants to come chat with Jamestown at The Merc, she’s also quite welcome. Smile

Yes Leslie Smith is also a great candidate AND I feel strongly that Max can likely unite more of the rural areas of District 49 (which is HUGE) who may not feel well represented by a CU Regent.

Thanks for posting and hosting!  We've known Max for 20 years. He has our complete support and hope he can succeed in getting on the ballot!  Come hear what he has to say if you can!
