I really like that watch duty app Rose. Its a good resource that I encourage folks to download and use for evacuation notices.

Watch Duty is a useful tool, but for those of us with PTSD, it can make it hard to focus on things like working. sigh. They're getting water from Horsetooth for aerial drops - maybe they can get it under control as the temps drop tonight.

Totally understandable that the level of vigilance necessary varies.  You can limit the scope of the area that you get notifications on in WatchDuty.

Love to you and your work, Nancy! Heart

You're welcome!  I'm happy to be a conduit.  Thanks to Joy for telling me about it!

As we’re new to the area, does anyone have any resources/recommendations to have certain things prepared in case of evacuation? We have the app and notifications on, but never had to prepare for such circumstances, so any insight is appreciated.

Welcome, Olivia!  Here's the address for the Boulder City and County Office of Disaster Management website section on Preparedness:  https://boulderodm.gov/preparedness/

However, I'll bet there are some folks who have lived here longer who have excellent advice to add on.

For evacuating, I have a fire proof case that I keep important documents and valuables in. On days like this, such as in the past, I know what to grab such as photos, meds, and the cat Smile. Have a plan of who you might stay with. Make sure you have gas in your vehicle. My PTSD escalated today as I’m sure others may have experienced as well. Keep all the firefighters in your thoughts.

Beautifully said ME. I’d just add to keep the clothes/shoes you’d need next to your bed in case you need to leave quickly. Stay safe neighbors.

One suggestions that I heard at a workshop last winter, especially for families with kids, is to just grab your dirty clothes bag/hamper - it'll have seasonally appropriate clothing in the correct sizes!
