Good Afternoon !
There is an ORANGE CLAD HUNTER on or through the Blue Jay Mine Open Space.
He just ignored being told that what he was doing was illegal on the Boulder County Blue Jay Open Space, and kept going.
Be cautious, he is carrying some type of long gun.
And obviously doesn't care where he is !
Hopefully he hunts safer !?!
Sheriff / Ranger has been notified.

Did anyone see his/her vehicle? There’s been an open-style dark green Jeep parked at the green gate several times recently. I don’t recognize it from around here.

He was driving a big black four-wheel-drive truck that he parked right before the green gate. I had an encounter with him that was pleasant enough, but then he went ahead and did what he wanted to do which was hunting Through open space.
Does anyone know if hunting is legal right now? What about the threat of wildfires?
does that ever affect The legality of hunting?

Hi all-
Hunting is legal under the level 1 fire ban. There is nothing illegal regarding openly carrying a long gun, especially when walking on a public access to a FS unit. Since the Bluejay isn't a bona-fide hunting unit they can't hunt/shoot there, but they can pass through.

Good Morning !
I personally have no problem with hunting, as long as it is done legally.
After checking with Boulder County Open Space, there are NO weapons allowed in or through Boulder County Open Space.
The one exception is Not the Blue Jay Open Space.
No weapons (including bb's and slingshots) are allowed on or through Any Boulder County Open Space !
Please report any violating hunters to the proper authorities.

Thanks Randy for the INTEL. Good to know! I got shot when I was 14 on a quail hunt.
Changed my outlook on guns, hunting etc. Still have 4 or 5 No.8 birdshot in my legs.

You can access that piece of forest without crossing BCOS property, it is easier just walking through on the trail. I have hunted that area before and will continue to.
