potential snowplowing contractor!!!

Hi all,

I sent out an email to a bunch of folks, but I don't have everybody's current email, so I'm putting it out to the commUNITY at large. It's late to be trying to arrange this, but I know of a person who would be willing to get a snow plow and plow in Jamestown if he can get enough interest from people who would pay a fair price for the service. He'd have to invest in the plow and vehicle maintenance, and it has to be worth it for him to do that. He wanted to know if there was enough interest from people, and he wanted to know what the needs are - I told him I thought it would be roads as well as driveways, and the email responses I have gotten so far indicate both. I don't have information yet about how he would charge - hourly, by depth, by area to be plowed? But he needs to know if it would be worth it. I, for one, am absolutely willing to pay my fair share.

I know that George is contracted to plow for the Food Rescue access on Saturdays and Mondays, but if a storm hits on other days, I don't know his availability.

One more thing - Rose H-H did some work on this last year and apparently the Area Agency on Aging can help seniors with at least part of the cost. I need to call them to find out more about it and will post here when I know. You can join the discussion here or email me at my jimtown account (my.name@)

Hey Nancy ~

I am with you getting something going on plowing our roads.  Now we realize what an "asset" BearFoot and Craig were!

Now that our roads (at least Mesa Street where I have lived for 47+ yrs) don't get plowed in a timely fashion, they have become
sheets of ice.  Up here on the West Mesa Glacier, people are getting stuck going DOWN the road.  A SAND BARREL here and there
(hint hint) would be useful.  Or just a pile of sand somewhere that could be accessed.

Let's fix this JimBillies ~ this is OUR TOWN and there is more snow coming!
