"Suspicious Death Investigation" in Bar-K This Morning
#1
Hey, everyone—
Grayson and Tina here at 300 Ridge Road. I imagine many of you saw lots of cop cars on the road today or perhaps read the news report in the Daily Camera. Hopefully to provide some clarity or at least information, here’s this: Two Boulder deputies woke us up at 3:15 a.m. They asked us where our property line started and told us that a body had been found on our side of the fence. The deputy asked us some questions and told us they’d keep a spotlight on the body until the sun came up. When that happened, many more deputies and the coroner arrived. They took the body away around 10:30 a.m. We’re still not sure what happened. The first detectives stated, somewhat plainly, it was a homicide; the second set of detectives stated they did not know if that was true or what the cause of death was and that people were being questioned, but not yet detained. The second detectives also said they did not think there was reason for the community to be worried at this time.

I don’t know if this is helpful or not, but I suppose everyone is confused, so that’s what we’ve got. We’re certainly anxious and a bit shaken, but we’ll be OK. We’ll update as best we can if and when we know more, and feel free to email or message us any questions. I’m at gcurrin@gmail.com

It would be really nice if the Sheriff's office could provide us a statement. If any one finds something, please share it here.
That same house has provided us enough excitement in the past few months with its occupants trying to burn down the neighborhood, and now someone ends up dead on the property? They need to go. I sent the petition with signatures to the owner 2 months ago and never heard back.

Hi all,

We're certainly feeling a bit anxious about this.  I looked on the County's website for updated information and found this: Unattended Death Near Overland Road in Unincorporated Boulder County - Boulder County

https://denvergazette.com/outtherecolora...5bce2.html

Death of person found in unincorporated Boulder County deemed suspicious

Has anyone heard anything about this case, given the proximity to Saturday night's event?

Grayson and Tina, Thank you for sharing that info. I am so sorry you are having all this happen right next door. Trust me, the Bar K is not usually this "exciting"!!!

Hey all,
There have been no arrests, and the deputies/ coroner trend to treat all unattended deaths as homicide until proven otherwise. Suffice it to say that there was a decedent found, and the detectives are investigating. The deputies acted appropriately and have taken all of the necessary steps. Had there been a particular cause for alarm, they would have alerted the community.

UPDATE #2: BCSO Investigating Suspicious Death West of Jamestown

Boulder County, Colo. - The Sheriff’s Office investigation into the circumstances of this death remains ongoing. Following the initial phases of the investigation, which included interviews and the execution of a search warrant, the death no longer appears to be suspicious in nature.

As is standard practice, all death investigations are treated with the same level of thoroughness and care. This approach ensures that all facts and circumstances are examined.

The Boulder County Coroner’s Office will determine the cause and manner of death.

Thanks for posting this, Ben.

This morning, a Boulder County officer called to tell us that they currently do not believe it was a homicide, per an autopsy last night, and that a cause of death determination is pending more toxicology results and a coroner's report. A sigh of relief, but still super sad.
