Need Help, Woodstove Glass Broken
#1
Hi all, I know it's a long shot... The glass in my Jotul wood stove door broke. I have to order it through a dealer. McGuckin's is a dealer. They estimate it's going to take two weeks for new glass to arrive. Does anyone have any ideas on how I can make the stove useable in the meantime?
Thanks!

From my experience, the guys at McGuckin’s are often good for brainstorming solutions for things like this. Sometimes you have to ask folks in different departments to find the right person or solution.

You might try a sheet of steel cut to fit with the appropriate stove gasket to make it as airtight as possible. I’ve had to repair my stove with a small steel sheet and it’s survived very high internal stove temps for a couple years now.

Hopefully, more folks will have ideas for you.

Good luck!

Kate, Amazon has a Jotul store, they list replacement glass, just have to pick the correct model and measurements, and it indicates the glass can be here as early as next Tuesday on some.
Be careful though, there may be some counterfeit sellers on Amazon, you want genuine Jotul, and ceramic glass.
