Bear sighting
#1
Smallish bear on Pine Street just 15 feet from the front door. This was Sunday at dusk. It was minding its own business rooting for something in the dirt. Scared it off with three car honks. They’re awake.

Hey Anne ~

Thanks for the 1st Official Bear sighting reported for this Bear Season!

I got another report of a Bear sighting last week on Olde Stage.

Let me know your address and I will get you a "Save Our Bears JT" bumper sticker.

This the season!

CLEAN AND LOCKED!
EVERYTHING!

PS:  Were you able to tell what color your Bear is?  Smallish would make me think 1-2 yr old.  Size of a Big Dog (think Basho).
Thanks again Anne, for the Intel!

Hi John,

I had a dark cinnamon bear in my backyard last night on Upper Spruce. Easily scared off with a shout. It was "Basho-sized".

Thanks Cal!

Possibly the same Juvenile Bear that Anne saw.  These young Bears are the ones that concern me the most!
They are learning how to survive and may have gotten bad training from Mom, hence the exploring of human habitat for food.
We need to make these lil guys UNWELCOME in town.  Scold them (like you do your kids) make noise, chase them like I do.
Whatever it takes to escort them out of town.

Thanks for reporting.  Got a SOB sticker for you!  I will drop it by on one of my Lila walks!

Courtenay, Carly, Megan and I saw the bear near Rudiger's house around 7pm yesterday.

I didn’t get a good look at the bear but its coloring was dark brown. Probably the same one Cal saw. But I wouldn’t trust myself to pick it out from a lineup.
