Missing USPS package
#1
Hello neighbors, I'm missing an important USPS package. Informed delivery and tracking says it was delivered yesterday. There was a parcel locker key in my mailbox as expected. But the key is for a locker that is broken, does not lock, and there is no package inside it. It seems as though the postal worker put a package in a broken locker and left the door open (!!!) but I hope there is a misunderstanding and one of you grabbed it by mistake. Let me know please if anyone has it or has advice on next steps.

Also I went to the mailboxes this evening and there were two large packages just leaning against the lockers outside. I have never seen this before but freaked me out given when we all had our mail stolen a few years ago. I should have taken pictures and noted who they were for but I didn’t think of it at the time.

Like Tom noted a couple of days ago, it appears that USPS is leaving large packages on top of the Overland Road mailboxes.
Here's one that we received today, with the little smiley-face note in the mailbox.
Never seen this done before -- always had to pick up large packages at the post office.  Would seem like this would result in delivery theft.
We're going to stop in at the post office next chance we get to see why this is happening.

Thanks for sharing Joe. Let us know what you find out. I don’t know why they would do this after we have had such a problem with mail theft recently. Especially during the holidays when people don’t always even know when packages are coming.

Finally got to the Post Office today, and the new postmaster told us that leaving packages on the mail boxes was not supposed to be done, and would not be done any more after she talks to the delivery people.  Big packages will again need to be picked up at the Post Office.
