High Wind Warning - Level 2 Fire Restrictions Today

The National Weather issued a High Wind Warning for Boulder County early this morning.

Level 1 Restrictions are already in place, but the Wind Warning will increase restrictions to Level 2 for the day – ending at 2400 tonite.

Larimer and Boulder Counties Between 6000 and 9000 Feet-Jefferson
and West Douglas Counties Above 6000 Feet/Gilpin/Clear
Creek/Northeast Park Counties Below 9000 Feet-
Including the cities of Evergreen, Georgetown, Glendevey,
Nederland, Westcreek, Central City, Red Feather Lakes, Idaho
Springs, Estes Park, and Bailey

...HIGH WIND WARNING IN EFFECT UNTIL 2 PM MDT THIS AFTERNOON...

* WHAT...West winds 25 to 35 mph with gusts up to 70 mph expected.

* WHERE...The Northern Front Range Foothills, and The Southern Front
Range Foothills.

* WHEN...Until 2 PM MDT this afternoon.

* IMPACTS...Damaging winds will blow down trees and power lines.
Widespread power outages are expected. Travel will be difficult,
especially for high profile vehicles.
