Hole in my yard!

Someone drilled a big hole in my yard last week - looks like an augur did it. It's about 2' in circumference and it has to be 6 - 8 feet deep. Then they put a piece of plywood with the words Open Hole spray painted in orange over it. WTF???

Anybody know who the hell would do that without even contacting me or asking permission to come onto my property, let alone dig a hole like that? My guess is that it has to do with the Sturgeon trucks that have been in town the past few days - for Xcel? 

If anybody knows about this and can tell me who to contact, please reply here or contact me offline. I am seriously pissed off!

I have seen the xcel guys installing new poles all over town, I would guess its that.

They also came onto my property without permission; my dogs had a field day

I talked to those guys installing power poles.  They are doing 60+ new poles in our area.
Part of the wildfire prevention process.  Hope it works!
